CalCom Energy: New Market Entry Study

ETE was engaged to create a detailed analysis of the solar landscape in 10+ states with a significant agricultural industry. ETE’s work included a detailed summary of state solar policy, utility rates, net metering/PURPA tariffs, and solar incentives. ETE captured summary rate elements and customer counts (when available) for common utility rates applicable to farms and agricultural processors in all utilities over a certain size threshold. This portion of the study helped determine the addressable market size. The next step included building custom data files for use in the NREL System of Assessment Model (SAM) to flag jurisdictions where solar development could be economically feasible. The last deliverable included a presentation for management summarizing the findings of the investigation.
